How do you go on when the quality of your life is no longer anywhere near what it used to be?
How do you go on when the pain is so bad, you cry several times a day?
How do you go on when you can't even enjoy time with the people you love the most because of the pain you are experiencing?
How do you go on when you are no longer the mother your kids deserve because you hurt so bad so much of the time?
How do you go on when you feel so alone because nobody understands what you are going through?
I don't know the answers to these questions, but I wish I did. I'm not sure I can go on much longer like this.
You just take it one day, one hour, one minute at a time if you have to. You get out of bed because you know others are depending on you. You keep plugging away to different doctors and trying different treatments until something starts to make at least a bit of difference if not a lot. You learn to live with the new normal eventually. And hope. Each minute you are closer to that visit with the new rheumy. In the meantime, work with that pain management specialist and give yourself lots of hot baths, heating pads, and warm blankets and clothes. Try some of the icy hot creams and packs. A hot tub or sauna somewhere if you can. Make yourself move gently to avoid stiffness and further pain. Find activities to distract as best you can. This is all I can offer in the moment, besides a big cyber hug and reminding you that you are not alone.
